Get involved
Trick-or-Treat for Charity runs entirely on volunteers. You can host a stop (business, home or Sady Svatopluka Čecha park, at least 100 sweets), volunteer at an assigned stop (sign up by 16 October), donate sweets or give money online to SOS Children’s Villages.
How do I become a host?
Hosts are the heart of the walk: last year 92 of them welcomed around 2,000 children and parents. Fill in the host and helper form and the team will coordinate the rest with you.
- Where: your business, your home or Sady Svatopluka Čecha park – mostly in Vinohrady, Žižkov and Vršovice, in 2026 also in Hlubočepy–Barrandov, Holešovice and Prague 15.
- Costume: at least part of one, plus some Halloween decorations for your spot.
- Treats: at least 100 packaged sweets – busy stops need more.
- Collection box: each stop gets a box with the SOS Children’s Villages logo; coins go only there.
- Time: be at your spot at the hours you committed to; they appear on the map.
Tip for businesses: offer something special – a warming drink, a slice of cake, a small product – and it will be shown right on the secret map. Tired parents love a place to sit down.

What does a volunteer do?
- Sign up through the host and helper form – volunteers by 16 October.
- Prepare a warm costume (witch, vampire, ghost…); October evenings can be cold or wet.
- Pick up a collection box and sweets at the agreed place, unless you bring your own.
- Be at your stop at the agreed time, hand out treats and collect coins for the children.
- Return the box where agreed and look forward to the announced total.
Donate sweets
Thousands of treats are handed out and not every host can buy all they need. Packaged, long-lasting sweets help most. You can also run a small candy drive at your school or workplace. Write to the organisers to arrange the hand-over – if you live nearby, they can pick it up.
Donate money
Can’t come? Send a donation straight to SOS Children’s Villages. It pays for camps, trips, therapies and other essentials for children who cannot grow up with their parents. Companies that give more than CZK 1,000 are thanked on the event’s social media.
School or company outside the area?
Stops are only in the areas shown on the posters below. Schools and companies elsewhere in Prague can arrange their own Halloween week in support of SOS Children’s Villages – write to the organisers.
Posters to print and share
Bilingual A4 posters for 2026 – one for families and one for hosts in each area. Print them for your door, shop window or school notice board.
